AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution

This deep red facial-in-a-bottle is no stranger in the beauty community. 

Presented as a 10-minute peel, the weekly liquid exfoliator is built around a blend of 30% AHAs to exfoliate the skin’s top-most surface for a brighter skin complexion and smoother texture. To make this formula even more effective at exfoliation, it also comprises of 2% BHA that dives even deeper beneath the skin to exfoliate and clear heavily congested and blocked pores. 

This power-duo targets both on and beneath the surface of the skin, making it a fantastic exfoliator to reveal a brighter complexion, help fight visible blemishes, and reduce the look of fine lines.

As with any type of exfoliation whether physical or chemical, it can be quite harsh on the skin regardless of skin type and sensitivity. To ensure you have the best chemical exfoliating experience, this advanced acid formula is made with Tasmanian Pepperberry to offset any potential irritation commonly caused by acid use, including a cross-polymer form of Hyaluronic Acid for comfort, paired with Vitamin B5 to assist with healing, and topped off with Black Carrot as a powerful antioxidant.

(Tip: We like using this with our Silicone Mask Spatula to avoid drying out our hands. This also makes the perfect applicator for other masks, especially those packaged in tubs to avoid contamination.)

Suitable for: Normal/Oily/Combination/Dry skin types.

pH Level: 3.5-3.7

• After cleansing, let your face dry completely as this product must not be used on wet skin.

• With your fingertips or using a Silicone Mask Spatula, apply 1-4 drops evenly across face and neck avoiding eye contour.

• Leave on for no longer than 10 minutes.

• Rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water and continue with hydrating products for the rest of your routine.

• Contrary to the common practice of over-application of this product, a little goes a long way since the formula already boosts a high concentration. Applying too much product may tip the scales in favour of irritating skin rather than offering benefits.

• Use a broad-spectrum sunscreen in the day to avoid photosensitivity. 

Use in the PM only, no more than twice a week.

 Sunburn Alert:  This product contains an AHA (alpha hydroxy acid) and a BHA (beta hydroxy acid) that may increase your skin's sensitivity to the sun and particularly the possibility of sunburn. Use a sunscreen to combat photosensitivity, wear protective clothing, and limit sun exposure while using this product and for a week afterwards.

IMPORTANT: Read directions and contraindications listed below before use, especially if you are new to this product.

• This formula contains a very high concentration of free acids. We recommend use only if you are an experienced user of acid exfoliation and your skin is not sensitive.

• Do not use on compromised, broken, peeling, or sensitive skin.

• Due to the high concentration of free acids, you might feel some stinging upon application which should fade away after about 20 seconds. Should the stinging remain to a point it becomes unbearable, wash it off immediately.

• This low-viscosity solution is intended only to be used as a rinse-off masque.

• Always conduct a patch test before use on unbroken skin.

• Should persistent irritation occur, stop use immediately and consult your local physician.

• Keep out of reach from children.

• Authentic AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution should NOT smell perfumed or otherwise commonly described as a ‘baby powder’ scent. It should smell more like a dark, fruity, sour berry. All The Ordinary products are fragrance-free, but some products will have a natural scent due to its ingredients.

✴︎ Salicylic Acid: A member of the BHA (Beta Hydroxy Acid) family, it helps to exfoliate dead skin cells and also penetrates deeper into pores, removing congestion and clogged pores that cause blackheads, whiteheads and pimples.

✴︎ Tasmanian Pepperberry: Also known as Tasmannia Lanceolata Fruit/Leaf Extract, this ingredient has anti-inflammatory properties to reduce redness and irritations. It also helps to relieve itching and any burning sensation, negating any irritation commonly brought about with the use of strong acids. Also contains anthocyanins, powerful antioxidants that are 3x stronger than blueberries.
