Officially making its highly anticipated return, the Salicylic Acid 2% Solution is back with a formula better than ever. This superstar exfoliating product helps to nix spots, target textures and counteracts blackheads for extra clarity and smoother skin beneath.

WHY IT’S SPECIAL

A part of the bunch in The Ordinary’s lineup of pore purifying treatments, this water-based serum is formulated with Salicylic Acid, a keratolytic ingredient that provides deep exfoliation to decongest clogged pores and regulates sebum production to make way for improved clarity and texture.

This oil-soluble star ingredient, otherwise referred to as a beta hydroxy acid (BHA), absorbs deep inside pores to break apart the mixture of oil and dead skin cells that form spots or blackheads, lending a clearer, smoother complexion. It's also known to be anti-inflammatory and can calm down angry, red spots.

Keratolytic ingredients like salicylic acid are also well known to effectively treat a common skin condition called keratosis pilaris which appears as rough, bumpy skin (otherwise known as 'strawberry skin') that is caused by keratin accumulation in hair follicles typically found on the arms and legs. 

Thanks to the formula's lightweight texture, this non-sticky, fast-absorbing serum is an easy favourite especially for oily and blemish-prone skin.

Suitable for: All skin types, especially oily and blemish-prone skin.

HOW TO USE

• After cleansing, apply a few drops to palm then pat or massage across face and neck until absorbed.

• The serum can be used on the entire face or as a spot treatment.

Use in the PM, 1-3 times a week. Apply sunscreen in the day.

GOOD TO KNOW

• Do not use on sensitive, peeling or compromised skin.

• Avoid the eye contour and contact with eyes.

• Always conduct a patch test before use on unbroken skin.

• If you develop irritation, hives, swelling of eyes and mouth, blistering, or difficulty breathing, rinse immediately, cease use of product and consult a physician right away.

• Keep out of reach from children.
