100% Organic Virgin Sea-Buckthorn Fruit Oil

Not your average facial oil, this formula reveals a naturally vibrant shade of orange-red thanks to its high antioxidant content – carotenoids and lycopene, and carries a myriad of essential fatty acids including Omega 7 to help maintain skin’s overall health, provide structural support and defend against environmental stressors.

WHY IT’S SPECIAL

Derived from the pulp of the Sea-Buckthorn berry, this facial oil presents a robust concoction of a rare and highly-concentrated palmitoleic acid (Omega 7) to nourish and protect skin, along with other essential fatty acids (Omega 3, 6, and 9), Vitamin E, and powerful antioxidants like carotenoids and lycopene that shields the skin from free radical damage and supports maintenance of skin’s barrier function.

This high-purity, organic, unrefined virgin oil nourishes and protects the skin, making it a good all-rounder if you already have a reliable beauty routine but want to take it a step further in maintaining overall skin health and combat visible signs of ageing.

(Tip: The natural orange-red hue from this product may stain fabric, so we suggest using only a small amount and dilute with other oils or moisturisers, and using dark-coloured bedding.)

HOW TO USE 

• Mix 1-2 drops daily, ideally at bedtime with preferred water-based treatments or moisturiser, then massage into skin until absorbed.

• As the product is naturally tinted, wash your hands after application to avoid staining fabrics.

• Supplied in UV-protective brown tinted glass bottle to reduce light degradation of the product.

• This product is fragrance-free (as with all The Ordinary products), so any scent you might detect is a natural result of the ingredients. If the scent bothers you, try diluting this oil into a gentle moisturiser or cream to reap the benefits while diluting the scent.

• The 100% Organic Virgin Sea-Buckthorn Fruit Oil is completely unrefined and imparts a natural scent partly due to its high omega fatty acid content. This scent is not an indication of rancidity. Sea-Buckthorn Fruit Oil that does not have a scent is refined and offers reduced benefits.

• This formula has a natural orange-red hue due to its high carotenoids and lycopene content. After application, the colour of this oil will remain on your skin until it is washed off.

• Always conduct a patch test before use on unbroken skin.

• Should persistent irritation occur, stop use immediately and consult your local physician.
